About

Tim McLoraine is a classically trained musician turned visual artist working primarily in medium of video.  His work explores the density of digital information, the complexity of personal narrative, and their intersection.

This transition between genres traveled through the world of opera.  After a career as an orchestral bassoonist, Tim began assisting on various opera productions including Elliot Carter’s What Next? at the Tanglewood Music Center, Janek’s Cunning Little Vixen with the New York Philharmonic, and Mozart’s Abduction from the Seraglio with the National Symphony Orchestra.

Creating work for both video installation and live performance, Tim often collaborates with classical musicians to integrate video art into the musical experience.
